Guitar #11, cherry archtop-sold

This is my second archtop guitar and 11th acoustic guitar overall.  It has a 17” body width and is built following the design in Bob Benedetto’s excellent book on archtop guitar construction.  The scale length is 25” and the nut width is 1-3/4”  The back, sides, blocks and neck are cherry, the linings are walnut, the headstock overlay is cherry burl, the fretboard, bridge and tailpiece are jatoba and the soundboard is something anonymous which I believe to come from the spruce family, by the smell when I was carving and sanding it.  This mystery wood was given to me by a  kind banjo customer who used to make dulcimers and had had this wood in his shed for 20 years or so.  It is a nice straight grained piece of whatever it is, and I’ve got enough left for one more archtop guitar of this size.  The guitar is finished with Tru Oil and has Gotoh tuners, a Corian nut and EVO fret wire.  To see a video demonstration of this guitar please follow the link below:
