This is my third archtop guitar and 12th acoustic guitar overall. It has a 17” body width and is built mostly following the design in Bob Benedetto’s excellent book on archtop guitar construction. The scale length is 25” and the nut width is 1-3/4” The back, sides, and neck are cherry, the linings are walnut, the blocks are African mahogany, the headstock overlay is spalted maple, the truss rod cover, fretboard, bridge, tailpiece, and endpin are jatoba and the soundboard is the other piece of the mystery spruce that I used on guitar #11. Future archtop guitars I hope to make will probably use purchased soundboard material from a regular supplier, and I’ll be interested to see if the sound is at all different. This guitar is finished with Tru Oil and has Gotoh tuners, a Corian nut and EVO fret wire. There is a two way truss rod in the neck.
