Banjo #103, cherry 12″ thin rim-sold

This is my first banjo with a thin rim, it is just over 1/4″ thick and is made from a slice of a maple Keller drum shell with a 1/16″ cherry veneer added on the inside and outside.  It has a 1/4″ round brass tone hoop on top of the rim.  The neck is cherry, the peghead overlay is cherry burl, the fretboard is jatoba with brass dots and the heel cap and rim cap are walnut.  The Romero style armrest is made from cherry and walnut and I will sell the banjo without it for $30 less.  The scale length is 25.5″, nut width is 1-38″, the nuts are Corian, the frets are EVO Gold and there is a two way truss rod in the neck, accessed from the heel.  The tuners are Gotoh raw brass, and came from Balsam Banjo Works along with much of the brass hardware.  I made the Van Eps style tension hoop and the tone hoop and dowel stick brace.  The tailpiece and Renaissance head came from Smakula Fretted Instruments.  I can add 5th string spikes for $5 a piece.  For a short video demonstration please follow the link below:
