This banjo is African mahogany (Khaya sp.) with an ebony fretboard. The scale length is 19-3/4″ and it is tuned to an open C chord (cGCEG). The overall length is just under 30″ and it weighs 3 pounds 2.5 ounces, so it could be used as a travel banjo. The nut is made from Corian with a width of 1-1/4″ and the rim is 10″ in diameter. The tension hoop is 6061 aluminum. The fretboard marker dots are 3/16″ brass. The tuners are Grover Sta-Tites. The finish is Tru Oil. It is currently strung with medium Martin banjo strings, which are what I use on almost all of my banjos. This is my first slot head banjo, though I have made a resonator guitar and many dulcimers with slot heads. Please follow the link below to see a video demonstration of this banjo.
