Banjo #57, 12″ cherry with brass hardware-sold

This banjo is similar to the other cherry 12s I have made, except that it has a maple stripe in the neck and dowel stick, and comes with an armrest.  I will sell the banjo without the armrest for $30 less if the armrest isn’t wanted.  This banjo has a Renaissance head on a 12″ rim, 3-1/8″ deep and 1/2″ thick with a cherry rim cap and a wood tone ring profile.  The scale length is 25-1/2″ and the nut is 1-3/8″ wide.  There is a two way truss rod in the neck, accessed from the heel, the fretboard is jatoba with brass dots, EVO fret wire, Gotoh tuners and Corian nuts, and the peghead overlay and heel cap are cherry burl.  I made the Van Eps style tension hoop and the dowel stick yoke, the tailpiece and head came from Smakula Fretted Instruments and the rest of the hardware came from Balsam Banjo Works.   The finish is Tru Oil.  To see a video of this banjo please follow the link below:
