Banjo #96, walnut 12″ with brass tone ring-sold

This banjo has a walnut rim, neck and Romero-style armrest.  I will sell the banjo without the armrest for $35 less.  The fretboard, peghead overlay and heel cap are all made from Rocklite Sundari, which is an engineered material made to look and function like rosewood.  There’s a lot of information about it online, and I have used it on a couple of custom instruments before.  This banjo has a Renaissance head on a 12″ block rim with a rectangular brass tone ring and a walnut rim cap.  The tone ring is 3/16″ thick and 5/8″ tall and has a 1/8″ radius routed onto the outer corner where the head comes into contact.  The scale length is 25-1/2″ and the nut is 1-3/8″ wide.  The neck has a two way truss rod accessed from the heel, brass dots, EVO fret wire, Gotoh tuners and Corian nuts.  I made the Van Eps style tension hoop and the dowel stick yoke, the tailpiece and head came from Smakula Fretted Instruments and the rest of the hardware came from Balsam Banjo Works.   The finish is Tru Oil.  There is a brass plate on the dowel stick with the banjo number and such on it.  I can add 5th string spikes for $5 each.  To see a video of this banjo and #95 please follow the link below:
