Four new banjos

I ran out of banjos for a few days earlier in November but now I have four new ones completed and up for sale.  I have put hickory fretboards on two of them, which is something I hadn’t tried before.  We have a lot of bitternut hickory on the farm here and I have been cutting it for years at the sawmill.  It’s nice to have a domestic wood for fretboards that I can get easily, and I will be interested to see what people think of it.  The new banjos are all on the Banjos page, #37 through #40.  I’m working on a mandolin now and hope to have it ready soon.

Two new banjos completed

I have just recently completed #30, a 12″ walnut/brass banjo and #31, an experimental mahogany C scale 10″ banjo.  They’re both shown on the Banjos page of the site.  Now I am making a batch of rims for someone and I am planning to make a mahogany and a cherry 12″ banjos in early August or thereabouts.

Banjo #29 completed and up for sale

This is another in my recent series of 12″ banjos with brass hardware.  I’m also working on a walnut 12″ and a C scale mahogany 10″ banjo but with custom work still going on I am not sure how soon they will be ready.  More pictures and details of this banjo on the Banjos page.
