July started with a small batch including banjos and a rim. The first banjo was #345, a 12″ curly maple banjo that was pretty much a remake of #282. This was a banjo that was a stock banjo but built to order, so the customer had the option of returning it if he had wanted to.

The next banjo was #346. a walnut 12″ with aged brass hardware and a full fretboard.

Then there was a rim made for an existing neck sent to me by the customer. The customer had the rim sent unfinished. The customer likes to do the finishing himself, and he also sent most of the hardware, so I just put it together.

The next project was a walnut squareneck resonator guitar. Someone bought the resonator guitar I had before, so I built this one to replace it and hope to make another this fall so there will be two to choose from. It is shown on the Guitars page.
The last project for July was my first archtop guitar bodied octave mandolin. It was a fun project, and I still intend at some point to go back to my original plan of making a small archtop 6 string guitar using this body shape and size. This instrument is shown on the Mandolins page.
During July I went on two camping trips, one night to the St. Regis Canoe Area and three nights to Indian Lake. Trip reports are at the links below.

August is starting off with two partially completed banjo assemblies, one going to the UK and one to Australia, and a hollow rim pot for an existing neck going to Canada. Soon I will also be starting a replacment neck for an existing pot to go to Vermont. Later in the month I hope to restock a couple of A scale banjos and a 12″ walnut banjo with a Whyte Laydie type tone ring, as they are all things I normally have in stock but am currently sold out of.
