This is my seventh archtop guitar and 19th acoustic guitar overall. This is the second walnut archtop guitar I’ve made with a one-piece back, and I have enough wood in the board to make one more. This guitar has a 17-3/8” lower bout width and is built mostly following the design in Bob Benedetto’s excellent book on archtop guitar construction. The scale length is 25”, the nut width is 1-3/4”, and the fretboard has a 12″ radius. The back, sides, neck, blocks and linings are walnut, the headstock overlay, truss rod cover, fretboard, bridge, tailpiece and endpin are zebrawood, and the soundboard is Sitka spruce from Alaska Tonewoods. This guitar is finished with Tru Oil and has Gotoh tuners and a Corian nut. There is a two way truss rod in the neck. I don’t have a case for this guitar, as my supplier doesn’t have archtop cases.
