I have made a variety of mandolin family instruments and am always willing to do custom builds if what you see here isn’t what you’re looking for. The flat top and the A style octave mandolins and the mandocello were designs I first built as custom one-offs, but then decided were successful enough to make more to have in stock.
My first A style mandolin was built in 2009 and was my first experience with building an archtop instrument. The first flat top octave mandolin was a custom order but I was pleasantly surprised by how resonant it sounded. The 2026 base price for A style archtop mandolins is still $950, and $1150 for flat top guitar bodied octave mandolins. Mandocellos and archtop guitar bodied octave mandolins start at $1350.
